ABOUT THE EVENT:
Color Away Creative Retreat will be an exclusive, intimate gathering of only 50 people who are passionate about adult coloring, hosted by best selling coloring book artist Hannah Lynn and her husband, Jeremy. The event will take place only a few miles from Hannah's home in Rigby, Idaho, at the beautiful and totally private property of Labelle Lake, where a 7,000 square foot lodge and 7 acre property with private lake bordering the Snake River awaits the retreat's attendees!
Adults (21+) of all skill levels in coloring and art from all over the world will get together and color, chat, exchange tips, learn from and spend time with Hannah, eat, swim, roast marshmallows around the campfire, and more! $599 Tickets will include all 3 and half days of relaxation, fun, art classes, meals, snacks, drinks (beer & wine included-mixers will be available in the kitchen for other drinks) and activities (lodging available for only a small few for an additional cost-there are 6 private bedrooms with queen/king beds available in the lodge). $499 without meals if not wanting to partake in meals on property. RV parking available for no additional cost (but there are no "hook ups") as long as you have a bathroom in your camper for showering. Tent camping will not be available as I don't want to overload the available bathrooms. You will be able to reserve your ticket for a $100 non-refundable deposit (goes towards your ticket price) with the remaining balance due on April 10, 2020 (payments will be made here on my website with Paypal or credit card). Spouses/partners will need their own ticket, even if not participating in art activities, due to the limited amount of guest spots available. There will be lots of relaxing and outdoor fun to be had for anyone accompanying a colorist to this event!
This will be a fully catered event with meals organized and provided by local restaurants in a beautiful natural setting; a relaxing retreat for colorists to enjoy nature and art, and to de-stress, while meeting online friends and other passionate colorists! Enjoy the small lake on the property by hopping into a canoe or paddleboat, swimming, or sunning on a floating mattress. Take in the nature around you by feeding the ducks, watching the goats and alpacas wander the property, or take a little trail to the banks of the Snake River where other wildlife from the region might be encountered, and world-class fishing is allowed with an Idaho fishing license. Watch the sunset or star gaze once the sun goes down around a fire pit. Enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee and some dessert while coloring with newly made friends!
Bring your coloring supplies, diamond painting kits, cross stitch projects, puzzles, or any other creative project with you to enjoy! There will be some materials provided by me for certain activities like watercolor pencil painting, but you'll need to bring all of your regular preferred coloring supplies and pages/books. I will have at least one diamond painting for people to work on. Do your own thing in a quiet spot on the property inside/outside, or participate in a group activity, it's up to you! There is a pool table and a hot tub on the property as well for us to enjoy, and I'll bring my volleyball net and other outdoor games for anyone who might want to play! All of the activities will be relaxed and mostly unstructured outside of art classes. I don't want anyone to feel pressured to do anything, but I would also like to provide activities for fun and socializing :). I'm mostly an introvert, so I get that hanging out with people is fun, but unstructured downtime is important for this type of retreat as well. It's all about your level of comfort and what fun really means to you, depending on your mood at the time!
I will be staying at my own home in Idaho Falls and driving in each morning so as to leave the 6 bedrooms on the property available for those traveling in (details below). Guests staying elsewhere are welcome on the property from 9am (breakfast) to 10pm each day (except for the half day on Monday which starts at 4 pm). Breakfast is included for those who purchased tickets with meals unless you let me know you'll be eating at your hotel or before coming in. We plan to make (or bring in) a full breakfast on site for everyone personally, with lunches and dinners being catered by restaurants.
I'll create some polls to find out things attendees would like to do once tickets go on sale so we can make this what we want it to be--there's still a lot of planning to do! I've got some fun ideas like maybe an outdoor movie night and/or a karaoke night depending on feedback. There will also be goodie bags provided for attendees with fun Hannah Lynn exclusives inside. It's going to be a very special event, and I'm really excited about it! I just love art and nature, so it's a win/win for me :). I also love hosting parties! Please join the event page on Facebook to participate in feedback about the event :).
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
VENUE: LabelleLake.com, pictures under "gallery"
CLOSEST AIRPORT: Idaho Falls (IDA) 30 minute drive
GROUND TRANSPORTATION: Uber/Lyft, Taxi Service, or Rental Car.
LODGING ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS:
For those interested in staying in one of the rooms in the lodge, the bedrooms that will be available are private, but there is 1 full bathroom for every 2 bedrooms with a queen bed, so you will be sharing a bathroom with one other guest room. Separate toiletries and daily housekeeping will be provided. The lodge does not have air conditioning, but with the night time temps being in the 40's-50's this time of year, having the windows open at night to cool it down and then closing them in the morning keeps the cool air inside during the day. TVs are in the common areas of the lodge, but not in the bedrooms. The queen bedrooms will be $150 a night for 4 nights to stay in separate from ticket costs (there are 5 of those rooms). There is one large King suite that has a private bathroom ($250/night). Those costs are fixed whether one or two people share the room, they are only available for the 4 nights together (no splitting night stays, so $600 total cost for a queen bedroom and $1,000 for the King suite) and they will be available for "reserve" for a separate $200 deposit when the tickets go on sale on July 22, 2019. Check in would be 3pm at the earliest on Monday, June 22nd, and checkout would be Friday morning, June 26th, 2020, at 11am. You can find pictures of the rooms and lodge on LabelleLake.com under "gallery". For RV parking, there is no additional cost but there are no "hook ups", and your RV needs to have a shower as using the bathrooms for showers inside the cabin is reserved for those staying in the rooms.
PETS: No pets are allowed.
ACCESSIBILITY: Since the property is only partially handicap accessible, I would say those in a wheelchair, walker, or anyone having the inability to get up stairs should not consider purchasing a ticket. There is a "Great Room" on the 3rd floor that will serve as our indoor area for certain things that we may want to be out of the elements for, or in the event that the weather changes on us (and, this is Idaho--it will!).
FOOD SENSITIVITIES/allergies/special diets: Just let me know what it is you need, and we will accommodate. I'll send out a survey after tickets are sold for these kinds of requests. I follow a very strict gluten-free diet myself, so I understand how important it is (and how stressful it can be while away from home) to have special food needs handled properly.
ABOUT THE AREA: The town of Rigby is small with around 5,000 in population. It's quiet and serene, and the perfect place for the event! There are a few stores, a couple restaurants, and a Motel 6 in Rigby, but really Idaho Falls is the major hub where you will find all major hotel chains and restaurants (where I live), which is about 20-30 minutes down the highway. It's also where the airport is. Idaho Falls has close to 75,000 residents and has everything anyone would need :).
We are at about 4500 feet elevation and the weather here can get wacky. Afternoon thunderstorms are common this time of year, and temperatures can swing 40-50 degrees from day to night. You will need a jacket and gloves just in case, and we will all be able to enjoy the inside of the lodge with plenty of room if the weather takes a turn. The lodge does not have air conditioning, but with the night time temps being in the 40's-50's this time of year, having the windows open at night to cool it down and then closing them in the morning keeps the cool air inside during the day. It does of course have heat (not expecting we will need it this time of year), and there will be multiple fire pits outside to enjoy in the evenings.
The property has a pretty aggressive mosquito abatement schedule (spraying twice per week) that will ensure very minimal exposure to mosquitos, but bring some bug spray if you are concerned about it.
Yellowstone National Park is 2 hours northeast of us, if you want to extend your trip! Yellowstone Bear World is right here in Rigby--it's a small "extension" of the park--a wild animal preserve where you can drive through and view free-ranging area wildlife like bison, bears, elk, and more. YellowstoneBearWorld.com
CANCELLATION POLICY: The $100 reserve for the ticket is non-refundable. If you cancel, or do not pay the remaining balance due by April 10, 2020, the $100 will not be returned to you. If I have to cancel the event for some reason, the $100 will be refunded to you. Cancellation after remaining payment has been made on April 10, 2020, will result in complete forfeiture of payments to Hannah Lynn Art & Design. Please keep in mind that other travel expenses such as air or ground travel, off-site hotels, etc. are your responsibility entirely should a cancellation arise for any reason from either party. Personal Trip Cancellation insurance is recommended at your own expense and can be obtained through various travel sites, your airline, or sometimes credit card companies.
